Most people will just walk into an electrical shop and buy a digital camera off the shelf with out looking into the few basic digital photography tips that can help them get started. Then they will take the camera home and start shooting random pictures without thinking about what they are doing. Its easier to see these few basic digital photography tips now, as it can save you making mistakes later.
The first thing that should be done before you start taking pictures is that you see through and read the manual that accompanies the camera. Most digital cameras have the same actings in theory but the modes and buttons might act differently. Some cameras might get extra settings or gadgets that will be helpful to you.
The next thing that you should do is practice holding the camera for when you start taking photographs. Hold the camera firmly in both men and have sure that you get no fingers sticking in front of the lens impeding your shot. Get comfortable with handling and firmly holding the camera.
My next recommendation would be to fix the small strap that comes with your camera onto it. Always use this little strap when removing your camera from its make or when taking photos. Always rap the strap around your head or arm to avoid dropping the camera. How many times have you seen people on holidays or at weddings dropping cameras. Someone just might bump or thrust into you. Since cameras are expensive its better to be safe.
The next level would be to get your camera out and practice using it. Become familiar with the modes and settings of the camera. Set up a bit of fruit on a chair and have a few of the same shots of it using different settings on your camera. Then upload the shots onto your computer and try and see the different settings used with the photos relevant. Some settings will give you more red in your shot which will give the film seem warmer, another setting might have you more yellow in the picture which will make it appear brighter. Knowing what each way and setting does will assist you decide later what the best setting will be when photographing in varying situations.
Practice when used with a certain point of knowledge will make you taking great pictures and I hope you get some use out of the few basic digital photography tips explained above.
